And, don't look back. A little panic will surely help. Network even a little harder--Your next position is surely only a telephone call away, right? If your networking isn't working, you're not running fast enough.
I don't like this advice and suspect you do not like it, either. If networking even harder is starting to feel like a panic-driven run to you, you might want to take back some control of your life and your job campaign with a carefully-targeted mailing strategy by selecting interesting companies (and their CEOs) by SIC, size of the organization, and geography and advising them of your interest and availability.

D&B/Dun & Bradstreet has classified over 14 million companies--all known companies in the country--and is the all-around best source of corporate data for your job campaign (target companies and private equity firms). I have renewed my annual license to the D&B Zapdata service and I will help you construct your best possible target list for a mailing after January 1 (peak hiring season). I strongly recommend using the time between now and then to prepare your early January mailing.
